for the youth & families
Welcome to Pua Mohala
Through workshops, retreats, and cultural activities, we empower our ʻōpio (youth) by prioritizing wellness and aloha ʻāina (love of land). Established by two indigenous women in the moku (land division) of Koʻolaupoko, Oʻahu, our goal is to cultivate a safe space for youth and young adults across the globe to flourish and thrive in, so that they will become culturally conscious and successful adults.
our mission
WHAT WE DO
Ua ola loko i ke aloha -
Love gives life within
Our mission is to provide healing and advocacy for indigenous youth with the goal of empowering self healing modalities through the reconnection of ancestral practices.
WHY WE DO IT
O kēia ʻuʻuku e nui ana -
This smallness will be big later
Our vision is to create a healthier lāhui through the healing and advocacy of our indigenous youth.
We recognize the weight intergenerational trauma places on our shoulders. We feel compelled to guide our youth to unpack these burdens through self empowerment.
HOW WE DO IT
He lei poina ʻole ke keiki -
A lei never forgotten is the beloved child
We create safe spaces for youth to explore relevant themes and find self empowerment through workshops, retreats, and wellness services.
We look to cultural practices, ancestral diets, and the knowledge of our elders to help guide our work, curriculum, and focus. Through collaboration with other indigenous organizations, we seek to create a platform where youth feel represented.
